Metadata Validator

Check media IDs, titles, durations and source links before passing a file to the next system.

One worksheet, values only; up to 5 MB and 3,000 records. Use a Log Generator export or the template below. Files stay in your browser.

How to use this tool
  1. Download the template or export a log from the Log Generator. Required columns are House / Media ID, Description and Duration (29.97 DF). Keep IDs and timecodes as text.
  2. Upload the file and validate. The tool trims outer whitespace, normalizes a valid HH:MM:SS:FF duration to HH:MM:SS;FF, and recalculates Duration frames when that column is present. Other columns are preserved.
  3. Review missing values, duplicate IDs, invalid timecodes and source URLs. Repeated media IDs are flagged for review because reuse may be intentional.
  4. Download the cleaned file and exception report as Excel or CSV. Unresolved errors remain in the file; correct them and validate again before using it.

This checks the supplied schema and formatting. It does not verify media availability, rights, episode accuracy or downstream system requirements. ID changes, missing titles and invalid timings are never guessed.
