Broadcast Calculators

Time your programs. Check what remains.

Frame rate defines frames per second. Drop-frame skips timecode labels, never video frames, to keep 29.97 / 59.94 timecode close to clock time.

Time a program

Add program segments, breaks and promos to check the complete runtime.

Time formats and keyboard tips

Use 30s, 1:30, 30m or full timecode. Short entries use nominal frames (a :30 spot is 900 frames at 29.97). Use measured timecode for exact material timing.

In a duration field, place the cursor in hours, minutes, seconds or frames, then use ↑ / ↓. Short entries become timecode first. Press Enter in the last duration to add a row.

Paste elements from Excel or a list

Tabs, comma-separated rows and lists like “Sponsor 30s” are supported. To replace the complete calculation, include a row named Target runtime or Total slot runtime. For the programming example, paste “Total slot runtime,30m” and “Commercials,2:30” on separate lines.
