Log Reconciliation

Compare an original log with a returned log and review what changed.

Keep original Event numbers when editing or moving rows. Give added events unused numbers. Keep House / Media IDs and timecodes as text. One worksheet per Excel file; up to 5 MB per file and 2,000 event rows.

Files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. This compares the files; it does not verify airing, advertiser delivery or billing.

How to prepare and reconcile your logs
  1. Build your log in the Log Generator and download an Excel workbook or CSV. Save that original unchanged.
  2. Make a copy for the returned log. Update actual or revised details, remove missing events, or insert new events. Preserve all column headings, Event numbers and text timecodes, including day offsets after midnight. Use values rather than formulas.
  3. Select the original and returned files, then Analyze logs. Event numbers match the rows; repeated House / Media IDs are allowed. Renumbering an event will make it appear missing and added.
  4. Review changed fields, row order, missing events and additions. Timing uses 29.97 drop-frame integer frames. Main-event duration totals exclude numbered rundown breakdowns to avoid double counting.
  5. Download an Excel or CSV report with both values, changed fields, duration differences and timing warnings. These results reflect the supplied files and need operational review.

Excel and CSV use the same column layout, so either file type can be used for either log. Spreadsheet summary rows are ignored; duration totals are recalculated from the event timecodes.
